Small Ways To Change Your Life
Back to school means a fresh start to another academic year but it's also a great time to start fresh in all areas of your life. Here are some simple tips and tricks to change your life and make you feel like a new person :)
1) Drink two glasses of water when you wake up
Your body is dehydrated after sleeping for 7-8 hours straight, drinking water will rehydrate your body and energize you.
2) Set your alarm for a half hour earlier
Now, this may sound like an awful idea at first, but giving yourself the extra time in the morning will give you the opportunity to slow down and start the day on the right foot. Nothing is worse than chasing the bus down the street or walking into class late to be met with a room full of glares...
3) Take a cold shower
Again, we now you think we're crazy, but taking a cold shower in the morning is proven to increase your circulation and energy and strengthen your immune system.
4) Make your bed
This one should really go with out saying, but making your bed is often forgotten when you're running out the door to catch a bus... Making your bed is a small way to get the day started right; it'll give a sense of pride and accomplishment to get your day going, and what's better than coming home to crisp sheets and a freshly made bed?
5) Carry a water bottle
So many of us are dehydrated and don't even know it! We should be drinking 2 liters of water per day. That's ALOT of water. Carrying a water bottle will be a reminder to stay hydrated!

6) Stretch as soon as you wake up
Stretching is a great way to feel awake, rejuvenated, and energized.
7) Take a media break
We live in a day and age where we are constantly connected, by phones, laptops, ipads, and tablets. Take at least 20 minutes out of your day to put down your devices and have a break. Go for a walk, read a book, or play a sport. The worldwide web will be there when you get back, we promise.
8) Make a point to learn something new everyday
Learn the capital of a foreign country, learn the name of a piece of classical music, or a new scientific fact. If you haven't learned something by the end of the day, pick a word out of a dictionary and learn the meaning.
9) Pick an outfit for the next day before bed
No matter how tired you are make a point to choose your clothes the night before. It'll save you the hassle of trying to find that cute black top or realizing there's a rip in your jeans minutes before heading out the door. You'll cut down the time it takes to get ready in the morning too.
10) Lastly, SMILE MORE :)
Don't forget to smile! Even if you're having a bad day - scratch that- ESPECIALLY if you're having a bad day. When you smile, the brain increases the levels of cortisol, adrenaline, and dopamine to your nerve centers, instantly improving your mood. So... SMILE!
